Abstract

1498307 Amplifiers ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 13 April 1976 [18 April 1975] 15084/76 Heading H3T In a current transformer of the type in which the base emitter junctions of input and output transistors T 1 , T 2 are connected in parallel, the collectorbase connection of the input transistor T 1 includes two further transistors T 3 , T 4 having their baseemitter junctions in parallel. The arrangement minimizes the dependence of the overall circuit gain on the current gain of the individual transistors without producing a high input resistance. The circuit may be constructed of lateral PNP transistors in which case, transistors T 1 , T 2 and T 3 , T 4 are preferably combined as double-collector transistors, Fig. 4 (not shown). If greater precision is required, the direct connection between the collector and base of T 3 may be replaced by a further pair of transistors with parallel connected base-emitter junctions.
