Abstract

1498205 Ice making CASTEL MAC SpA 22 Nov 1975 48167/75 Heading F4H In an ice making machine having a refrigeration system which includes an evaporator 1 with projecting freezing elements 2, a tub 3 adapted to be filled with water is positioned beneath the evaporator and is rotatable about a horizontal shaft 4 by an extension 5. A baffle 6 is also pivotable on the same shaft 4 and is associated with a stop device 8, 20. In operation, ice cubes 14 formed about the elements 2 are freed by reversing the refrigeration system. Concurrently the tub 3 and baffle 6 are tilted about the shaft 4. The ice cubes are deflected by the baffle 6 into a reservoir 9. The unfrozen remaining water overflows a partition wall across the tub into a channel formed adjacent the free end of the tub. The water passes via a drain outlet into a collecting chamber 17, separate from the ice cube reservoir 9, and a drain pipe 18.
