Abstract
1497721 Conveying tubers and roots SOC NOUVELLE BARRAULT-LEPINE 16 Jan 1975 [17 Jan 1974] 1901/75 Heading B8A Beetroots are collected between guides 3, 4 and conveyed between rotary members 1 and 5 the drives to which are arranged so that their peripheral speeds are equal and in opposite directions. The member 1 feeds the beetroots on to further members (not shown) which removes oil from them. The member 5 may be cylindrical with radially spaced axially extending pushers (Fig. 3, not shown), or it may consist of axially spaced discs each of which carries an 8-shaped pusher member (Fig. 4, not shown). The cylinder may be of open work from (Fig. 5, not shown); or it may be a variant of the first mentioned construction, in which the pusher members are of shorter axial length (Fig. 6, not shown). In other variations, the member 5 is an endless belt (Fig. 7, not shown), or a disc (Fig. 8, not shown).
