Abstract

1497666 Concentrated anionic dye solutions YORKSHIRE CHEMICALS Ltd 4 April 1975 [5 April 1974] 15240/74 Heading D1B Concentrated anionic dye solutions comprise, per 1000 parts by weight, 100-700 parts of one or more anionic dyes and 30-500 parts of at least one compound of formula: where R<SP>1</SP> is C 2-22 alkyl; R<SP>2</SP> is methylene or a p-phenylene group optionally substituted by C 2-22 alkyl; m and n are each 2-4, x and y are each 0-100 provided x+y is at least 2. The solutions may contain up to 200 parts of a viscosity reducing organic solvent particularly isopropanol, methyl pyrrolidone or ethylene glycol monomethyl ether. The solutions are used to prepare dyebaths, pad baths or printing pastes for colouring fibres particularly carpets with pile fibres of nylon, wool, cellulosic fibres or mixtures of these.
