1497513 Venous pressure measurement AMERICAN HOSPITAL SUPPLY CORP 23 July 1976 30743/76 Heading G1L An instrument to measure venous pressure comprises a transparent chamber 19 containing an inflatable member 22 the inside of which is vented to atmosphere and means 21 for connecting the chamber to a patient. With the means 21 connected to the patient the chamber is moved up or down until the pressure in the chamber equals ambient indicated by the member 22 inflating. The head of liquid in the tube 21 above or below the cavity indicates the pressure therein. The instrument may be used above or as shown incorporated in an intravascular infusion system in which fluid flows to the patient via the chamber 19. To measure pressure the flow is shut off before the chamber.
