Abstract

Ethyl 2-ethyl-6,6-dimethyl-2-cyclohexene-1-carboxylate of the formula I <IMAGE> can be obtained by cyclisation of ethyl 3-ethyl-7-methyl-2,6-octadienoate. It has an extremely diffuse rose note with great radiation power and is therefore used as perfume.
