Abstract

1497291 Hydrogen sulphide removal FOSTER WHEELER CORP 8 Jan 1975 [10 Jan 1974] 806/75 Heading C1A H 2 S is selectively removed from waste gases by their reaction with a solid nickel material (as defined) at an elevated temperature, e.g. 500-1800‹ F., so that the nickel material is at least partially sulphided and thereafter withdrawing at least a portion of the sulphided material from the reaction zone to a regenerating zone and therein treating the material with a molecular O 2 containing gas to form SO 2 and regenerated nickel material which may be resupplied to the reaction zone.
