Abstract

1496925 Electro-photography XEROX CORP 17 March 1975 [18 March 1974] 11004/75 Heading G2H An electro-photographic printing machine incorporates an electrical sampling means, which is integral with a movable photo-conductive member, or is mounted for movement with it, and circuit means which compare electrical signals from the sampling means with references indicative of desired conditions of the photo-conductive member at processing stations of the machine. Error signals resulting from the comparison are used to control the processing stations. Retroactive control of charging, exposing and transfer stations, of development electrode bias and of developer composition are brought about by closed-loop operation. Preferably, the sampling means is itself photoconductive.
