Abstract

1496753 Mowers INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 9 Jan 1976 [10 April 1975 (2)] 00794/76 Heading A1F A mower has a vibration-inhibiting tractor mounting as described in Patent Specification 1496752 with the hitch frame 20 connected to the drag bar 30 to form a horizontal four-bar parallel linkage where one of the links is a steel leaf spring 32 and the other is a pull-bar assembly 40, which, as well as acting as a draft link, is also part of the lifting linkage (Fig. 4), is a means for attaching a float spring 49 and is further disclosed as acting as a breakaway link (Fig. 5). A breakaway bar 402 is telescopically slidable in a channel 401 upon excess load on the drag bar 30 overcoming a detent pin 411, held in a pocket 411, 412 by a spring-loaded lever 414. A plate 406 and block 407 prevent total detachment of the bar 402. Overloading causes the cutter bar 61 and drag bar 30 to pivot backwardly about the pin 36.
