Abstract

1496199 Water-based paint containing corrosion inhibitor FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 30 Oct 1975 [20 Dec 1974 (2)] 44881/75 Heading C3P A water-based paint which consists essentially of a cross-linkable paint binder resin comprising a carboxyl group-containing polymer and an aminoplast cross-linking agent therefor in an aqueous solution of an organic amine contains, as corrosion inhibitor, barium nitrite. The barium nitrite can be used alone or in combination with other agents such as N,N- dimethylethanolamine nitrite, triethylamine nitrite and morpholine nitrite. The paint is preferably a "hybrid", emulsion/solution polymer composition.
