1494160 Multilayer pressure vessel P G PIMSHTEIN, M M SHEL, E R KHISMATULIN, E G BORSUK, A N NOVIKOV, V M MAKAROV, B G ZISELMAN, A V KURAMZHIN, V G USENKO, N K GLOBIN and V IVANTSOV 23 April 1976 16566/76 Heading B1X A multilayer pressure vessel comprises a cylindrical portion formed by a pipe encompassed by layers of helically wound strip, the helices of adjacent layers being of opposite hand ,the pitch of each helix being 0.2 to 2.2 times the inside diameter of the pipe, all the adjacent turns of strip being welded to one another along helical lines only in the external layer, the ends of each strip being welded to respective end parts of the vessel.
