Abstract

1493800 Buckle G P SOMANN 8 Jan 1975 [8 Jan 1974] 791/75 Heading E2A A strap connector buckle, is formed of a single piece of wire, is rectangular and has a first and a second strap-engaging-arm on each of two opposing sides of the buckle, the arms on each side being straight and parallel to one another and to the arms on the opposing side and being spaced-apart sufficiently to permit the strap with which the buckle is to be used to be passed therebetween. The buckle is shaped so as to resist the spreading-apart of the second arms. In an embodiment a buckle has arms 16, 20 and arms 16a, 20a, also intermediate portions 22, 23, 24 and 26. An end of a strap 30 is passed around the arms 20a and 16a between the arms 16a, 20a and then around the latter in readiness to be sandwiched between the arm 20a and the tensioned strap. Likewise the other end of the strap, having been wrapped around a package (not shown), is passed around and between the arms 20, 16. In other embodiments the buckle is formed as shown in Figs. 4 and 5 and in Figs 7 and 8.
