1493698 Quaternary ammonium salts of nuclear material UNITED STATES ENERGY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION 13 Nov 1975 [6 Dec 1974] 46830/75 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions Cl and G6] Compounds for use in removing radionuclide ions from a radioactive solution (see Division G6) have the formula M<SP>1</SP>(M x O y H z ) where M<SP>1</SP> is a quaternary ammonium ion, M is Ti, Zr, Nb or Ta, x is at least 2, y is at least 5, and z is at least 1. Tetramethylammonium titanate, (CH 3 ) 4 - NTi 2 O 5 H may be made by adding tetraisopropyl titanate to a methanol solution of tetramethylammonium hydroxide, adding water, and boiling.
