Sprinklers, automatic.-In a sprinkler and drencher installation, the water supply to a local. ized dry pipe system is controlled by a valve having two disks or pistons j, k, Fig. 2, of different diameters, the upper one being provided with a passage m so arranged that water can pass to the upper side of both and thus keep the smaller one k on its seat; a small valve o in the valve casing normally kept on its seat by the water pressure is raised by a pivoted weighted lever f on the fusion of one or more fusible links in a chain cord or rod a, Fig. 4, which normally holds the lever f in position. On the valve o opening, the pressure is released from the upper side of the disk j, causing the valve to rise and admitting water to the distributing-pipes E of the sprinkler or drencher installation. For testing purposes the valve o is raised and water allowed to enter the pipes, a cock F being provided to allow the water to drain away into the pipe s.
