Abstract

1493188 Panoramic optics and photography H ANDERSON 22 April 1975 16539/75 Headings G2A and G2J The panoramic optic of Fig. 1 is formed by the rotation of an obtuse-angled triangle about a chord cross one of the acute angles and perpendicular to the short side including the acute angle. In Fig. 2 (not shown), the optic 1 is mounted on the front of a conventional single lens reflex camera, so that the 360 degrees panoramic image is produced as a circular image on the film plane. In Fig. 5, it is mounted on the front of a specially adapted camera, and it may be seen that the panoramic image can be received through the conical surface 1b1 into the camera lens system 15. Light is prevented from entering the optic directly by shields 4, 5. A similar optic is mounted inside the camera, on the other side of the lens system 15, having corresponding conical surfaces 1a2, 1b2. This throws an extended panoramic image on a cylindrical film surface 16.
