1493172 Removing sulphur dioxide and hydrogen chloride from gas mixture BASF AG 6 Feb 1975 [7 Feb 1974] 5051/75 Heading BIL The simultaneous removal of sulphur dioxide and hydrogen chloride from a gaseous mixture comprised thereof, e.g. air, is effected by contacting said mixture in a form having a relative humidity of from 30 to 100% with a fixed absorbent comprising activated charcoal at 0-100‹C and 1-50 atmospheres gauge. The process is particularly applicable to the purification of air used in preparing synthesis gas for use in ammonia production.
