Abstract

1492645 Agitating ink in printing machines SOC SEVEG S A ETUDES EQUIPEMENTS GRAPHIQUES 11 Feb 1975 [12 Feb 1974] 5824/75 Heading B6C [Also in Division B1] An agitator, e.g. for a roller and blade duct, comprises a guide track provided by a beam member 2 1 , 2 2 of U-shaped cross-section, the guide track having a fixed rack 11, and a movable assembly comprising an agitator member 1, a reversible motor 14 for driving a drive shaft 9 for member 1, the drive shaft carrying rollers or wheels 23 1 , 23 2 contacting one side of the U-shaped track, and a pair of second rollers or wheels each carried by shafts on either side of, and parallel to, the drive shaft and in rolling engagement with the other side of the U-shaped track, and a pinion 19 fixed on the drive shaft in mesh with the rack so that rotation of the shaft produces linear displacement of the assembly along the track. The motor may be reversed by micro-switches 20 carried by the casing actuated by movable studs carried by the track. Motor 14 may be energized by brushes, one contacting strip 12 and the other making an earth contact. The second wheels may be eccentrically mounted (Fig. 2, not shown). The agitator member 1 may be releasably attached by screw 10 to shaft 9.
