Abstract

1492476 Microphones; loud-speakers; acoustic horns H PEIKER 16 April 1975 [26 April 1974] 15545/75 Headings H4J and H4X A loud-speaker 3 and microphone 7 are arranged in a cylindrical housing 1 with the loudspeaker positioned adjacent an opening 2 and the microphone positioned in a cavity 4 behind the loud-speaker, slots 8, 9 being provided in the casing to provide sound access to the microphone. A transistor amplifier for the loud-speaker and/or microphone may be housed in the space 12. A horn (Fig. 2) may be mounted between the speaker 3 and the opening 2. In another embodiment the distance between the speaker 3 and opening 2 may be adjustable either by moving the speaker or alternatively by providing the housing 1 with an adjustable end cap. During reproduction the microphone may be used as a high frequency tweeter, the slots 9 being closed during reproduction by a sleeve, not shown, coupled to a change-over switch by means not described or shown.
