1491918 Numbering mechanism A T GIBB 1 April 1976 [8 April 1975] 14343/75 Heading B6C A vertically and horizontally adjustable sequential numbering or lettering mechanism 20 in a printing machine comprises a solenoid 68 having a shaft 73 attached to its armature, the shaft 73 carrying a numbering head 23 which is reciprocated by the solenoid 68 against a spring 110 when actuated by circuitry which is described in detail. A sheet detecting switch activates the circuitry and on-off and one-shot switches 52, 53 respectively are provided on mechanism 20. A known device advances the numbers or letters.
