Abstract

149,184. Sangster, J. Y. May 3, 1919. Bonnets.-In a vehicle having an air-cooled engine, the bonnet is formed by a fixed front part a<1>, a top part a<4> supported between the fixed front part and the dash-board i, and sides a<2>, a<3> detachably engaging grooves in the top by means of hooked upper edges k<1>. The sides are pulled downwards by spring locks m. The top may be fixed as by a rod n passing through lugs, or it may be detachable and held down by the spring locks m or by clips on the underside engaging a rod disposed between the front and the dashboard. Openings b in the sides may co-operate with the yalances of the front mudguards to direct air on to the cylinders for cooling purposes, as described in Specification 144,045. The fixed front a' may support a head lamp, as described in Specification 149,185.
