Abstract

1490473 Chaff DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 2 Feb 1976 [29 March 1975] 04053/76 Heading F3A [Also in Division H4] Chaff for protecting an aerial object and which is capable of both reflecting radar beams and generating infra-red radiation, comprises strips of metal foil having a smokeless propellant charge in direct contact with one side thereof, and, on the opposite side, a darkcoloured layer or coating. The strip may be folded so as to enclose the propellant with the dark coloured layer positioned on the outside of the strip. The foil is formed of magnesium, aluminium, copper or an alloy and is no thicker than 0À2 mm.
