Abstract
1489260 Balustrade SWISS ALUMINIUM Ltd 10 Jan 1975 [12 Jan 1974] 1029/75 Heading E1B A balustrade includes a post 1, a handrail 2 and a channel-sectioned intermediate rail 3 forming a snap-action joint over a bracket 13 which is non-rotatably secured to the post. Rotation of the bracket may be prevented by using two bolts. Alternatively the bracket may be in two parts 13, 15 bolted to the post by bolt 14, the part 13 engaging between two ribs 19 on part 15 and part 15 having a lug 17 engaged in a hole in the post. The handrail 2 snaps onto a bar 4 secured to the post by a bolt 7 and expansion connector 5. The gap between adjacent sections of rail 2 is bridged by a channel section 9.
