Abstract
1488975 Flexible hoses MUANYAGIPARI KUTATO INTEZET 20 March 1975 [29 March 1974] 11689/75 Heading F2P A flexible hose of high pressure-bearing capability, has a fluid tight flexible inner sleeve 2 on the external surface of which stiffening plastics rings 1 reinforced with fibres, are arranged beside and/or above each other, said rings being able to take up the external and internal radial forces to which the hose is exposed. The rings may take a variety of shapes, (Fig. 2 (not shown). Alternatively grooves may be formed about the inner sleeve by cutting, sticking, pressure moulding or injection moulding with fibreglass-reinforced plastics being wound into the grooves. In a further embodiment a continuous reinforced plastics layer is wound on to the inner sleeve and then grooves are cut into the cured plastics layer to form the stiffening rings. Another embodiment has stiffening members 3 formed from a thermoplastic resin with a reinforced plastics being wound into the groove. The plastics is preferably selected from the group consisting of polyester resin and epoxy resin. After the stiffening rings are arranged on the sleeve the hose is built up in known manner.
