Abstract

Order-type apparatus. - In a method of indicating the level of liquids utilizing the variation in resistance of a body immersed in the liquid with the depth to which it is immersed, the body is of high resistance and either tapered or constructed of materials of different conductivity in order to ensure a continuous proportional alteration of the resistance in the circuit. In cases where the specific resistance of the liquid itself varies, the arrangement shown in Fig. 2 is employed in which a bar G of high conductivity is arranged close to the resistance B in order to lessen the liquid path of the current. In order to ensure good contact between the liquid and the resistance B it may have an enlarged portion at the end.
