Abstract

1488123 Lintels CATNIC COMPONENTS Ltd 17 Sept 1974 [19 Sept 1973] 20742/77 Divided out of 1488121 Addition to 1298798 Heading E1K The cross-section of a tubular sheet metal lintel comprises upper and lower horizontal portions 101, 102, a rear vertical portion 807 connecting the rear edges of the portions 101, 102, a front vertical portion 805 extending from a position intermediate the front and rear edges of the portion 102 upwardly towards the portion 101, and a curved portion extending over at least half the width, in use, of a cavity 3 of a cavity wall in which the lintel is to be situated, and joining the portion 805 to the portion 801. As shown. the curved portion 804 extends over the whole width of the cavity. In another embodiment (Fig. 2, not shown) the curved portion extends over half the width of the cavity and a further curved portion joins the front vertical portion to the portion 102.
