1488122 Lintels CATNIC COMPONENTS Ltd 17 Sept 1974 [19 Sept 1973] 20741/77 Divided out of 1488121 Addition to 1298798 Heading E1K A lintel of tubular form has a rectangular cross-section and includes a bottom plate 102 extended to form a flange projecting forwardly from its front vertical wall 405, the lintel being dimensioned such that the flange supports, in use, standard bricks or blocks forming the outer skin 2 of a cavity wall, while its top wall 101 supports the inner skin 1 of the wall, a part 404 of the wall 101 extending into the cavity to a 90 degree fold line 406 joining it integrally to the wall 405. The lower end of wall 405 is preferably folded forwardly to overlap the flange and provide a lip 5. The other vertical wall 107 may be either separate, as shown, or formed integrally with wall 101 (Fig. 2, not shown).
