Abstract

1486558 Rotational moulding JOHN ORME Ltd 21 Feb 1975 [22 Nov 1973] 54333/73 Heading B5A A rotational moulding machine, e.g. as described in Specification 1,302,381, in which a gas is supplied to the interior of a hollow mould mounted on a rotary mould carrier, has its gas supply means comprised by bores 29, 30, 31 in the main shaft 10 of the machine which is indexed about its axis to bring the moulds carried thereby, in turn, to loading, heating and cooling stations. With the moulds at one station, e.g. the heating station, gas is supplied thereto via one of the bores which are brought, in turn, opposite a gas supply head 420 reciprocable towards and away from the bore inlet by a pneumatic cylinder 411 whereby gas is fed to the bore. When the head is urged forward it seals against the bore inlet and gas, e.g. air is supplied to the head by a line 424.
