Abstract

1486052 Rotary mowers MULTINORM BV 20 May 1975 [31 May 1974] 21495/75 Heading AIF A plurality of cutter members 7 are mounted above a housing 3 by shafts 9 rotatably journalled on said housing, and driven by a driving gear 63 comprising interlocking gear wheels 10, 11, and each cutter member has supporting means for carrying cut crop comprising at least one elongated supporting element 14 extending outwardly from a central hub 35 and holding a cutter 37 at its free end, the cutter being rotatable about an axis eccentric to the axis of the shaft 9. The element 14 and cutter 37 may be one bar 29 or the cutter may be pivotally mounted on a bolt below the element 14. The elements 14 are pivotable on the top side of the hub about bolts 12 with inclined or vertical axes. The hub 35 and shaft 9 may be in one piece and bearings 30 are arranged either between the hub and gear wheel 10 or above and beneath the gear wheel. The top surfaces of the elements 14 may slope downwardly in the direction of rotation. In alternative embodiments the top side of the hub is triangular or flat or has inclined side portions.
