Abstract

1485811 Half-tone images XEROX CORP 28 Nov 1974 [28 Dec 1973(2)] 51589/74 Heading G2M A half-tone image is produced on a photosensitive member by exposing through a lenticular lens element out of focus with the member, the array providing a soft dot pattern wherein 75% of the member under each lenticule receives information at 25% of the highlight density received by the central 25% of the member area under each lenticule. The lens element may be optically poor but in focus to achieve this effect, or the element may be optically good but out of focus. The element may be spaced from, in contact with, or integral with the photo-sensitive member. The element may be composed of cylindrical or spherical lenses, and may be a single plate or two plates, which may or may not be in contact.
