Abstract

1485595 Chlorine-containing polyalkenamers GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 1 Dec 1975 [2 Jan 1975] 49238/75 Heading C3P A mixture of a Diels-Adder adduct derived from hexachlorocyclopentadiene and a monocyclopolyene and a monocyclopolyene comonomer, obtained from the adduct-forming reaction, is subjected to ring-opening copolymerization. The adduct of the formula is preferably employed together with 1,5-cyclooctadiene comonomer. The usual tungsten chloride/(organo)aluminium halide or tetrahydrocarbyl tin catalysts may be employed in the ring-opening, the examples referring to or mixtures.
