Abstract

1484961 Packages PACO PACKAGING Inc 19 July 1975 30335/75 Heading B8C A package, e.g. for a series of doses of a medicament comprises a first layer 18 defining at least one dose-receiving pocket 20, a second layer 26 bonded to the first, 18, to close the pocket(s) 20 and a third layer 30 of reinforcing material bonded to the second 26, the third layer 30 being bonded to the second, 26, more weakly than the second, 26, to the first, 18. The first layer 18 is notched adjacent each pocket 20, and a data-bearing layer 12 is preferably located over the first layer 18 with the. pockets 20 projecting through apertures 14. Tabs 24 defined by cuts in the data layer 12, Fig. 4 (not shown), are bonded to the third layer 30 adjacent the notches. The reinforcing layer 30 is cut into portions corresponding to respective doses, and on grasping the appropriate tab 24, the layer 30 may be peeled back to reveal the second layer 26. The dose may then be pushed out through the second layer 26, which is readily ruptured in the absence of reinforcement. The data layer 12 is preferably of paper, the first and third layers 18, 30 of polymeric material and the second layer 26 of aluminium foil.
