Abstract

1484954 Detecting elongation of a conveyer belt NIPPON KONBEYA KK 23 July 1975 30899/75 Heading B8A Elongation of a conveyer belt 1 due to fatigue, is detected by the action of sensors A and B in conjunction with suitable control circuitry (not shown), together with a pair of magnetic elements b and a spaced on the belt the same distance apart as the distance between the sensors. The elements a and b are placed on either side of a joint 2 of the belt. The control circuitry is put in readiness by the element a passing over the sensor A (when the belt is moving from right to left). When the element a reaches the sensor B no detection response occurs, provided the element b is simultaneously above the sensor A. Otherwise a signal is generated which can be arranged to stop the belt or sound an alarm.
