Abstract

1483452 Teaching mathematics H WALKER 22 Aug 1974 [5 June 1973] 26726/73 Heading G5G Apparatus for teaching mathematics includes a square base divided into a hundred square units, and transparent number elements, each marked with the number which it represents and being of such dimension as to overlie that number of square units. Preferably the number elements have holes which engage pegs in the box. Ten number elements are provided for each of the integers 1 to 10, there being five for the integer 20, three for the integer 30, two for each of the integers 40, 50 and one for each of the integers 60, 70, 80, 90, 100. Two boxes are provided, one to take the elements representing 1 to 10 on edge with the number element representing 1 alongside that representing 9, &c. and one to take the elements representing 20 to 100 flat.
