Abstract

1483154 Spacing slit webs SIMON CONTAINER MACHINERY Ltd 13 April 1976 [19 June 1975] 26210/75 Heading B8R Apparatus for directing webs slit in a machine (11, Fig. 1, not shown) to a transverse cutting machine including rotary cutters (13, 14) disposed at different levels comprises a plurality of fingers 16, one for each slit web, mounted pivotally at one end of a table 15 and pivoted between upper and lower operative positions by double-acting cylinders 17 and locking means 19, 20 securing the fingers 16 in their selected operative positions, as well as means 25 in the form of electric switches for charging the cylinders 17 in readiness to move their respective fingers to newly selected portions when the locking means 19, 20 is released. The locking means includes a bolt 20 for each finger actuated between extended, locking position and retracted releasing position by a common switch 26, the bolt 20 co-acting with opposite faces of a block 19 to maintain the fingers 16 in their respective displaced positions.
