Abstract

1483084 Flame retardant polycarbonate compositions GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 11 Sept 1974 [1 Oct 1973] 39640/74 Heading C3R A flame retardant thermoplastic composition comprises (a) a polycarbonate derived from a halogen containing bisphenol and (b) at least 0À5% by weight, based on the polycarbonate, of a polydiorganosiloxane gum, the organo substituents being alkyl, optionally substituted anyl or vinyl. The examples describe compositions comprising (a) a mixture of a polycarbonate derived from bisphenol A and a polycarbonate derived from bisphenol A and tetrabromobisphenol A and (b) a high molecular weight methyl phenyl vinyl siloxane.
