Abstract

1483046 Concrete vibrators BANBURY BUILDINGS HOLDINGS Ltd 30 Sept 1974 [4 July 1973] 31944/73 Heading B1C [Also in Divisions B5 and E1] Material in a hopper a is vibrated for compaction and feeding by at least one elongate vibrator b immersed in the material, mounted at its ends in resilient members c, and vibrating transversely to its length. In use, the hopper lays the material in moulds (see Division B4-B5) or on the ground (see Division E1- E2) and is movable vertically and/or horizontally e.g. on wheels. Each vibrator comprises a tubular body surrounding a rotating shaft mounted in bearings spaced along its length, and supporting eccentric weights. The vibrator has fixed amplitude but variable frequency, and its orientation determines the direction of alignment of any fibres included in the material. Materials include crushed or powdered solids with or without liquid e.g. combinations of cement, gypsum, bitumen or asphalt bound aggregate, soil, sand, ash, ground rubber or cork, with asbestos, ground glass, particles of steel or polypropylene and natural or glass fibres.
