The machine is arrange so that insertion of a card to be printed upon initiates printing, and the mechanism then allows one revolution of shafts 34 and 35 and then stops. The type wheels may be indexed by a synchronous motor which may also drive the hands of a clock face visible from the outside of the casing of the printer. An ink-ribbon lies over the type faces.
