Abstract

1482707 Two part couplings BUKKER RAMO CORP 29 Oct 1974 [12 Nov 1973] 46779/74 Heading H2E An electrical connector comprises a base 72, a socket member 74, the socket member having a slot bounded by side walls 88-92 shaped to allow insertion of a generally flat element (10, Figs. 1, 3 and 4, not shown) at an angle to the sidewalls followed by an angular movement of the element in co-operation with a guide surface 96 to bring about engagement of pads on the element with the bowed portion 110 of contacts 100 mounted in the base 72 after which members 76 releasably retain the element. In the embodiment shown, the socket member 74 rotates between limits set by the arcuate guides 126, the middle portion 114 of the contact 100 being flexed by projections 120. In another embodiment (Fig. 1, not shown) the flat element (10) is retained at a fixed angle to the base (32). The flat element (10) may be a ceramic indicator used for visual display. Contact ends 102 can be mounted in holes 104 of a circuit board 106.
