Abstract
1482518 Cleaning heat exchangers J J EVANS 24 Oct 1974 [24 July 1973] 35108/73 Heading F2N [Also in Division F4] A heat exchanger for extracting heat from waste water or effluent comprises a helical through flow passage formed by a duct 16 containing an archimedian screw rotor 18. The duct is surrounded by a jacket 17 through which a heat exchanger fluid flows. The perimeter of the rotor is provided with a wire brush element so that a periodic manual rotation of the rotor effects scouring of the inner surface of the duct 16.
