Abstract
148,221. Allgemeine Elektricitats- Ges. July 10, 1914, [Convention date]. Transformers.-In a variable inductance or frequency transformer provided with continuous-current and alternating-current windings the continuous-current winding is divided into a number of separate elements with small voltage differences, each pair of elements being so connected that the voltages induced in them by the alternating-fluxes are in opposition. The elements may be arranged on opposite legs of a single core A, Fig. 3, or on separate cores A1, A2, Fig. 6. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 4, the cores A1, A2 are mechanically connected together, but are magnetically separated by non-magnetic material M. The continuous-current winding G is wound around the adjacent sides of the cores, and is penetrated by the alternating fluxes in opposite directions. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, the alternating-current windings W are also placed on. the adjacent sides of the cores, the continuous-current winding G enclosing both alternating - current windings.
