Abstract

1481863 Crease resisting compositions for dyeing polyester CIBA-GEIGY AG 8 Jan 1975 [8 Aug 1974] 35060/74 Heading D1B A composition for dyeing polyester fibres comprises a dye diffusing agent and a surface active glyceride produced by oxidation of a polyunsaturated oil followed by treatment with an alkali metal salt of an oxyacid of sulphur. The composition is used for dyeing polyester fibres or blends with other fibres with disperse dyes. The preferred polyunsaturated oils are oiticica, tung, and fish oils. Preferred dye diffusing agents are chlorine substituted phenoxyalkanols, particularly 1-(2, 4-dichlorophenoxy)-propan-2-ol. The composition may also contain non-foaming emulsifiers and/or antifoaming agents. The amount of the composition used in the aqueous dyebath is preferably from 0.01 to 0.6% by volume and, if desired after dyeing the fibres may be given a reduction treatment to remove the surface dye.
