Abstract

1481642 Electric connections LA TELEMECANIQUE ELECTRIQUE 18 March 1975 [17 April 1974] 11224/75 Heading H2E [Also in Division B3] In securing a copper layer 3, which is to be engaged by a removable contact 17, to an aluminium bus-bar 1 a strip 2 is formed comprising an aluminium support 4 and a copper layer 3 the aluminium of the strip is placed in contact with the bus-bar and the strip is spot welded to the bus-bar. A solid aluminium busbar is, in an embodiment, engaged by an aluminium strip 4 coated by rolling or electro deposition with copper 3 on the face remote from the bus-bar and the strip is spot welded to the bar by electrodes. In a modification a tin coating is provided on the copper of the strip the tin coating being preferably provided at only selected areas by the use of a mask. The removable contact member 17 is engaged with the copper layer adjacent the weld spot.
