1481587 Purification of aromatic diamines IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 18 June 1976 [28 July 1975] 31525/75 Heading C2C A process for the removal of orthodiamines from mixtures of isomeric aromatic diamines containing orthodiamines comprises treating said mixtures with a reaction product as hereinafter defined of isopropyl alcohol with tolylene diisocyanate and distillation residue therefrom and recovering unreacted diamines after said treatment. The reaction product is defined as one in which sufficient isopropyl alcohol has been used to react with all the isocyanate groups in the diisocyanate or the distillation residue.
