Abstract

1481526 Polysiloxane coated copper plates SHINETSU CHEMICAL CO 19 Nov 1974 50150/74 Heading B2E [Also in Division C3] Copper plates are coated with an organopolysiloxane composition whcih comprises either (1) 100 pbw of an organopolysiloxane resin composed of 55 mole % of C 6 H 5 SiO 1À5 units, 20 mole % of (CH 2 =CH)(CH 3 )SiO units and 25 mole % of (CH 3 ) 2 SiO 3 units; 15 pbw of an organohydrogen siloxane of the formula 15 pbw of an organohydrogensiloxane of the formula and 13 pbw of a mixture composed of 0.5% wt of a 2-ethylhexanol solution of chloroplatanic acid as catalyst and 99.5% wt of a liquid solventless organosiloxane composed of 20 mole % C 6 H 5 SiO 1À5 units, 30 mole % (CH 3 =CH)(CH 3 )SiO units, 40 mole % (CH 3 )(C 6 H 5 )SiO units and 10 mole % (CH 3 ) 2 SiO units; or (2) 100 pbw of the organopolysiloxane resin present in composition (1) above; 10 pbw of a linear organosiloxane fluid composed of 40 mole % (CH 2 =CH)(C 6 H 5 )(CH 3 )SiO 0À5 units, 40 mole % of (CH 3 )(C 6 H 5 )SiO units and 20 mole % of (CH 2 =CH)(CH 3 )SiO units; 15 pbw of an epoxy-containing organohydrogenpolysiloxane of the formula: 15 pbw of tris(dimethylhydrogensiloxy)phenylsilane, and 0.1 pbw of a benzene solution of ethylene-platinous chloride and 0.1 pbw of 2- ethynylisopropanol. The coatings are cured by heating. Steel, aluminium, chromium coated steel, glass and ceramics may also be coated.
