Abstract

1480890 Friction gearing POLLARDS (HOLLOWARE) Ltd 5 Dec 1975 49950/75 Heading F2Q A friction drive apparatus for platforms 16 carrying chairs 20 of fairground amusement apparatus comprises three spaced arms 14 on which the platforms 16 are rotatably mounted, tyred wheels 68 mounted at the outer ends of the arms 14 and engaging a circular track 12 on a base 10, and tyred wheels 72 coupled to the wheels 68 and engaging tracks 66 on the undersides of the platforms 16. The arms 14 are each of A-frame construction 54, Fig. 2, connected at its base to a plate 52 which is driven from a motor 30 through a gear box 32, Fig. 4.
