Abstract

1480649 Fuel elements ASEA-ATOM AB 13 Aug 1974 [14 Aug 1973] 35544/74 Heading G6C A spacer for nuclear fuel assemblies comprises cells, e.g. 1 Fig. 1 each receiving a different fuel rod, each cell consists of two o axially aligned polygonal sleeves spaced apart and joined by two plate springs 4, 5, Fig. 3, the cells are assembled, e.g. welded with their axes parallel and each cell is made by a stamping operation from a flat sheet and subsequent bending. Protuberances, e.g. 5 may be added to clamp the fuel rods. Projecting fins may be provided on the spacers for guiding coolant flow. Figs. 4, 5 (neither shown).
