Abstract

1480501 Multiple platform storage facility J-C PARENT 5 July 1974 [9 July 1973 9 Nov 1973] 29828/74 Heading B8H Apparatus which permits the superimposed packing of vehicles comprises a first platform 5 which is mounted for pivotal movement about an aixs 9, a second platform 15 suspended by ties 17, 17<SP>1</SP> from the first platform 15, the platforms being movable from the solid line positions to the broken line positions shown to permit entry of a vehicle to the first and second platform respectively, such movement being effected by a motor 29 connected by a linkage 27 to the common point of three side members 21, 23, 25 whose upper ends are attached to the platform 5. The axis 9 is so disposed that in the absence of any restraint the platform 5, together with the platform 15 tends to move to a position of equilibrium between its two end positions. The axis 9 is formed by a spindle which is supported by legs 11, 11<SP>1</SP>. The apparatus may have applications other than in the parking of vehicles.
