1480091 Fermented vegetable materials ENGLISH GRAINS Ltd 7 Nov 1975 [7 Aug 1974] 34797/74 Heading A2B A food or food supplement for humans or animals is prepared by finely dividing vegetable material which includes fresh vegetables, adding a fermenting agent, e.g. Brewers yeast, fermenting at ambient temperature e.g. 100-104‹F until the fermented matter begins to subside after its initial expansion, and drying in a current of warm air at a temperature below that which would denature vitamins, e.g. vitamin B, which have been formed. Vegetable materials used may be whole meal flour, flaked maize, oatmeal, barley meal, soya bean meal, ground nuts, fresh cabbage, lettuce, carrot, potato, turnip or grass. Casein and dried milk may also be present. The fermented and dried product may be baked to form a biscuit.
