Abstract

1479956 Lead phosphate-vanadate glass STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd 12 Aug 1975 [20 Aug 1974] 36562/74 Heading ClM A glass comprises, by weight, 33-70% of lead oxide (PbO), and 28-42% of a mixture of phosphorus pentoxide (P 2 O 5 ) and vanadium pentoxide (V 2 O 5 ), the weight ratio V 2 O 5 : P 2 O 5 being 1À5-4 : 1, and the balance, if any, being lead fluoride (PbF 2 ). The glass, which has a low softening point, e.g. 300-400‹ C., may be used to encapsulate semi-conductor devices.
