1479884 Finishing printed fabric L B HOLLIDAY & CO Ltd 14 June 1974 [14 March 1973] 12228/73 Heading D1S Printed textile fabrics or filaments are fixed by passing the textile 3 through a bath 4 of molten Wood's metal at a temperature of 99-160‹C. Following printing with a flat bed screen 2, rotary screen or gravure roll, the textile e.g. a carpet, is enclosed in a wrapper of paper or polythene sheets 8, 8' and then passed to the U-shaped bath via roller 6. The technique is applicable to the fixing of acid, disperse, milling, premetallised, basic or reactive dyes.
